Lesson Learned

Thomas is the smallest town I've lived in since I left home and is even a tad smaller than LA. I guess I've realized I've been slacking on *always* keeping my car locked because it reminds me so much of Laverne. I know it's dumb, because things like getting your car picked through by petty thieves happens everywhere...Just not to me. Well until a couple nights ago. I hadn't been in my car all day but yesterday when I went out to turn the car on I noticed something different. Upon further investigation I realized a few things: My things were in a different spot than I had left them and a few things were gone. I noticed the girls shoes(which is what I was going to grab) and my purse(which literally has nothing of value in it) were thrown in the floor. Then I noticed a few ones sitting there, that had been with my driver's license and a few bigger bills. I went inside to check my pockets. Nothing. I swore I was going crazy. If I hadn't noticed the next few items missing I would have thought I was losing it. But then I noticed my rubber cup liners and the change from one of them gone. There were a few random coins scattered in my floorboard, that they must have dropped picking out my earrings and the girls' hairbows. I glanced up and realized the punk(s) took my radio knobs too. Maybe the carseats in the back made them leave the a/c knobs, I don't know?Once I calmed down from the initial shock someone had stolen from my car sitting in my driveway, I figured out they had went through my console and strung it out on my seat and shoved the things off of my seat into my console. I am willing to take responsibility for some of my cash being stolen. It shouldn't have been in there. The fact they didn't take all of it and the random pieces of my Trailblazer that are missing really throws me for a loop. But I will never see it again. I guess if they really needed it that badly well then bless their hearts, even though I would have preferred them stealing a ten and buying their own(or really staying the hell out of it in the first place). I suppose though I live a life where I need a new fender, headlight, and grill(oh and radio knobs!) but would never consider stealing someone elses. We can afford to pay for them. So really if they needed them, though I'm sure they just took them to be assholes, then fine. I'll buy new ones and start locking my car. The only thing that really bothers me about this is the fact that I was home alone and pretty sure I was in the living room when it happened.(Oh, and that this would have been the perfect time to test out my taser!!!;) Obviously, being that close to my house they could see the lights on. I heard something, kinda like a car door, and Ali started barking like crazy. She is our guard dog. I checked it out, through the windows, because I could tell something was up. I wasn't going to go outside not knowing what to expect. I didn't see anything so I swatted her and told her to hush. But ya know you live you learn.

Here is what else has been going on.

The girls have been loving on each other...and fighting too. This is just so much more picture worthy.

Playing with their best friend. Accidentally all dressed in Old Navy thermals and vests.

Grandad got them vintage headboards. He gets me!

Spent some time with my side of the family. Grandad, Granny, and the girls.

Spent some time with Bobby's side of the family. Getting ready for bed with their cousins.

Bobby got the nice new work truck he deserves! Hopefully it is as hardworking and reliable as he is. :)

Got our bathroom(basically) done. New paint, sink, and floor. On to decorating! I hope everyone has a great weekend!
